About Northern Borders .....

This Blog is not "time sensitive" > the dates showing in the archives are simply the dates when the blog was created > not the last time the blog was updated. This blog is set up to view like a website & is being updated regularly.

Northern Borders Flyball Team was co-founded by Jackie Parkin and Diane McWhinnie in 1991. The name Northern Borders was chosen because most of the dogs on the team were either Border Collies or Northern Breeds; and being Canadian, we hailed from north of the border.

Over the years the dogs have grown older and retired, and new dogs have taken up the challenge of competition, but one thing has remained constant ..... Northern Borders is a team that, although strives to be competitive, always keeps the welfare and enjoyment of the dogs and handlers as the thing of foremost importance. We've had fast teams, slow teams, and teams in between. And we value the talents and contributions of ALL of the dogs on our team whether they be fast dogs, slow dogs, or average racing dogs. Northern Borders encourages a spirit of sportsmanship, camaradarie, and team work.

Currently our members come from the Hagersville, Brantford, Caledonia, Waterford, Scarborough, Oshawa, and Stratford areas of Southern Ontario
